Fat free goodies

Hi guys,

Well I am on a diet.......the usual and I wanted something sweet to eat.....and well I can't so I thought I would get the crochet hook out instead, like you do...lol. So I made a chocolate and strawberry  cake and then a 2 tier wedding  cake.

I used wool from my stash which is mainly  Stylecraft DK.  The patterns are from the Gourmet Crochet book by Christen Haden and Mariarosa Sala. Love this book.

Completed cushion

Hi guys,

Well the cushion is complete!  Yeah. I had to buy the cushion pads in pairs ( yes there only came in pairs, well that is what I told the hubby). So I need to make another but I think I am going to do some experimenting with the next one.

My hubby did ask where the cushion was going to live and would the next one be in boy colours........I wonder if this was an hint????

Long time no see!

Hi guys,

I have been around reading blogs just not posting and not a lot of crafting really.

I have been playing tonight. This is the Cath Kidston The Crochet Book kit. I have to say I am so glad I did not pay the full amount for this as I am not impressed with the wool. It does keep splitting and does drive me up the wall. I am enjoying the good old granny square. I do like the colours.

Some good news is that I have completed Level 3 in AAT so I have just 2 modules in Level 4 to do and I will be qualified. Will keep you posted.

See you soon

Do you remember this?

Hi guys,

I found this in my crafting stash and it brought back some memories:

S8001359

Anyone remember this??????? When I was a kid I never had anything this posh. I remember just having a wooden cotton reel from Grandma’s stash with 4 nails in it and it lasted me years. I just made loads of the coils below:

S8001360

This one has been claimed by the cats has they love them.

S8001361

I am going to be brave and try to teach Jennifer on how to do these coils.

What did you make with these coils?

S8001362

I will leave you with some yummy chocolate rock buns Duncan as made.

Which Hexagon to make?

Hi guys,

I have been playing today with aran wool. Yes I know it’s coming to summer but I am back at college and I need a project where I don’t need too many brain cells working.

Should I just make hexagon 1

Hexagon A

Or hexagon 2

Hexagon B

Or make both?

Or Both

My first go at the African Flower and I am using the pattern Here. These hexagons are going to be used for a throw and matching cushions. I never do things by half……………Go on be brave and tell me which option you would take?

Take it easy and do say hello

Catch up

HI guys,

Time for a catch up.

Well in the last knitting post I mentioned a new project on the go……well here it is

IMG_0148

Another baby cardigan with matching hat. I used Sirdar Supersoft Aran in green from The Wool Shop in Leeds.

IMG_0147

I loved doing the cable work and I am really impressed with my stitching up. This as been a massive learning curve for me and I do have to admit I am so glad that the Wool Shop is only around a few corners for the help when I got stuck.

I have also completed a crocheted rabbit for Duncan.

S8001346

I used the pattern from Simply Crochet Issue 2. The pattern is called Itty-bitty bunny. The wool I used was Hayfield Bonus DK  shade number 0931. Duncan picked the wool and it was ok to use but the black bits did come off in my hand. I would not recommend this wool for a small child……….except for Duncan.

S8001347

I think I may have to look for some fluffy wool for the tail next time and have a play…..what do you think?

S8001350

Oh yes my desk is tidy for once as I decided yesterday to have a tidy up on my desk………I don’t think it will last long but I can hope.

Take care

Managed to make a double pocket card.

Hi guys,

Well I have managed to make a double pocket card to day for Duncan's Nanny.it was good to make a card but I have struggled to make things gel. The mojo is not back completely yet.......hopefully with time it will come back fully.

I have managed to add some crochet with the little heart, tatting with the heart at the back of the card. I have used my new craft stuff, including the Cinnamon Sugar from Elizabeth Bell, my new watercolours to colour her in. My new nesties which are A2 Matting Basics A and B. Also I have used the labels seventeen. Also bling from the stash.

I think I am going to be brave and enter this card into the Papertake weekly Challenge which the theme is Anything goes. Optional Kraft card but I don't have any of this.

Thank you for coming to see me.

Crocheted bag

Hi guys,

Well the bag I was making for my trip to the theatre is a little bit bigger then I thought it was going to be……….

S8001280

It is too big but I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

S8001279

Just need someone to give me  a lesson on how to line it and then it will be completely done.

S8001285

Smudge found it very quickly and give me a dirty look when I moved it as he was using it as a pillow. I am trying to type this at the moment with him laid out in front of the PC.

Hope you like.

Yummy Wool!

Hi guys,

Well I managed to drag Duncan to the wool shop for some yummy wool. He is taking me out for our 1st Anniversary next month and I wanted to crochet a little bag for the night………….we are going to the theatre…….

S8001272

It called Wendy Pampas Super chunky. It is really soft and I need to do my drooling before I make anything with it. I have also had to hide the wool from Smudge who was straight onto the guard duty with it.

IMG00084-20120714-1404

Do you think he is comfy?

IMG00085-20120714-1404

I think the look means this is mine!

Well I could not get to my desk really today with Smudge on the desk and the new addition on my chair. So I had to make other plans and this is what I did.

S8001268

I had to move some crafting to my bed.

S8001277

My new cross stitch project.

S8001278

It is a good thing we can craft in any place. Yes 2 pencils as sometimes the cats try to help so it is 1 pencil for me and 1 for them………

Well I need to get some more stitching done.

See ya soon

Father’s day cards

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay in posting this. Not spent much time on the internet or computer. These are the cards for the Fathers Day.

For the Father in Law:

S8001196

Something a bit different. I have used my new Honeysuckle Vine from Memory box…….I love this one!

S8001198

Opened right out showing the new die set I have from Spellbinders – Floral Doily Accent. Also used candy and buttons from the stash.

S8001201

A nice little cross stitch in the middle. The cross stitch pattern is from one of the many mags I get. I have used allsorts on this card. Father in Law loved it as it as his favorite owls on it. The card and papers are from the crop box.

S8001203

This is Duncan’s card from Jennifer and the cats.

My first attempt at a double fold card for tags.

S8001204

Duncan loves Dragons so I have used the Wild Rose Studio Fergus with Teddy. Instead of using my promarkers I have used my water colours which I have not used in ages………… I think I need to play with these a little bit more.

S8001205

The 2 little tags I have made.

S8001209

Duncan loved his card as well!

S8001193

I crocheted a little owl for the father in law as I did not know how long it would take me to knit the owl for him. I got this pattern for the Art of Crochet mag that I get.

S8001190

I thought I would show you a picture of my little helper helping me a lot…….NOT. Smudge does look like he is comfortable doesn’t he?????

Well we have just completed our 4th week with a personal trainer and Duncan as lost a massive 12lb and I have lost 5lb. I was a bit gutted with my loss but it was pointed out to me that I have never trainer like this before and I have found muscles that I did not know I had more like use. I have lines appearing around the muscles like my biceps and calves. So we have signed up for another 4 weeks and we have been told it is going to get harder. I will keep you updated and here is to the pain that is coming our way……LOL!!!!!

Right I need to get off the computer and get to work on the cross stitch I am doing………Remember this??????

S8000692

Well I am on to the back stitching…….yes I remember saying I wanted to finished this before I got married and yes I have been married 10 months now…….I know I am terrible!!!!!!!!!

See you soon and leave a comment so I can come to visit you.
