Another card from me!!!

Hi Guys,

I have produced another card not only for one reason but two…….Duncan’s Aunty as moved into a new home but also for a challenge.

The challenge is for Paper Players Sketch #164. The sketch is below:

pp164_2

This is what I did:

S8001496

I used ribbon from the stash. Paper I have no idea as this as been in the stash for years. The flowers I was given by a friend and I have had these for years too…… Instead of using stamps I tried my hand at free hand writing for a change…….jury is still out on that verdict!

S8001501

Just behind the flower I have used the Spellbinders Impressabilities. The bit on the left is the embossed side and the right side I have used it as a stencil…….sorry not a very good picture.

S8001498

Again I have decorated on the inside. I have used Spellbinders Shapeabilities Ornate Squares. Card from the crop box. Once again I have used free hand for the inside too.

So another card made and I wonder what I can make next??????

First card in ages…..

Hi guys,

Well this as to be the first card in ages that I have made. A good reason for this is that it is the Mother-In-Laws Birthday this week……so no excuses for me.

So I needed a challenge to get the crafting juices flowing and I found Sketch Saturday which had the below sketch:

SS-277-2013

So I found the sketch but then what????????

S8001485

I used papers from the Pampered Pets Collection by Andrea Jayne. The stamp is also from the Pampered Pet collection called Sitting Pretty by Andrea Jayne. I have distressed the paper edges with Ranger inks in spun sugar. Card candy from the stash. I could not get the my ribbon draw as we have not cleared that yet……yeah yeah I know it needs doing! So I crocheted my little ribbon is some left over green I had.

S8001486

I have used Ranger ink in tea dye and coloured with pencils. This stamp is lovely.

S8001490

I used the left over papers on the inside for a bit of difference for me. I have inked the edges once again with spun sugar and used my Beaded Circles nesties.

S8001489

Oh yeah the model in the background is Dixie.

So I think I will go and enter this card into the Sketch Saturday Challenge.

Completed cushion

Hi guys,

Well the cushion is complete!  Yeah. I had to buy the cushion pads in pairs ( yes there only came in pairs, well that is what I told the hubby). So I need to make another but I think I am going to do some experimenting with the next one.

My hubby did ask where the cushion was going to live and would the next one be in boy colours........I wonder if this was an hint????

Long time no see!

Hi guys,

I have been around reading blogs just not posting and not a lot of crafting really.

I have been playing tonight. This is the Cath Kidston The Crochet Book kit. I have to say I am so glad I did not pay the full amount for this as I am not impressed with the wool. It does keep splitting and does drive me up the wall. I am enjoying the good old granny square. I do like the colours.

Some good news is that I have completed Level 3 in AAT so I have just 2 modules in Level 4 to do and I will be qualified. Will keep you posted.

See you soon

S8001396

The wool I have used is Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK in pink.

S8001397

The flowers I have used purple in Sublime Cashmere Merino Silk DK and the green is from the stash. The stitches I have used is daisy stitch and bullion stitch which is new to me but I think the flowers have turned out ok.

Hi guys,

I love Bank Holidays…..that extra day off work is lovely. We have been celebrating much this weekend. I passed another exam on Wednesday, on Friday the house completed so it is officially ours and we can actually do loads of work on the house. We have also had 2 new additions to the family.

So I have made a Thank you card for our solicitor who as work so hard on getting this house buying all sorted. I used a Sketch from Fetch a Sketch:

Challenge 51

And here is what I have done:

S8001393

I just need to make a thank you card for Amy who was the underwriter at the mortgage company and she was brilliant. And then it is a card for baby Charlotte to welcome her to the nutty family.

A card for a friend and a challenge

Hi guys,

The house is so quiet and the reason??????? Jennifer is having a sleep over at a new respite carers tonight. We have not had a break for over 6 months and we are all glad for today! Jennifer has a condition called Re-active Attachment Disorder so things can get very tense, very quick and can last a very long time. So to get Jennifer to go she thinks this is a holiday for her to get away from the grumpy parents!! At first Jennifer thought this break was because she was naughty and it took us ages to explain that she needed a break from us. So the mice are playing today………

First thing was to get the craft stuff out and play…while Duncan is on the xbox. There is a challenge over at Chocolate, Coffee and Cards Challenge Here and it was good timing as I had to make a card for a friend of Duncan’s. The challenge is to use numbers.

So here is what I have made:

S8001384

The stamp is StarBoy Luka from La-LaLand Crafts. I have used my watercolours once again. The numbers have been done on the computer and I have used a little Cuttlebug Provo craft embosser for the blue card around the numbers.

S8001392

A closer look at Luka.

S8001385

The card at full length. The papers are from the Papermania For him pack. I have had this pack for years. I have also used card candy. Also used to inks all the edges is Tim Holtz Distress ink in broken china. Around Luka I have used my chalks.

S8001388

The nesties I have used are Labels Seventeen, Labels Twenty-Two and Decorative Labels Twenty-Two.

I do hope you like this card and do say hello so I can come visit you.

Do you remember this?

Hi guys,

I found this in my crafting stash and it brought back some memories:

S8001359

Anyone remember this??????? When I was a kid I never had anything this posh. I remember just having a wooden cotton reel from Grandma’s stash with 4 nails in it and it lasted me years. I just made loads of the coils below:

S8001360

This one has been claimed by the cats has they love them.

S8001361

I am going to be brave and try to teach Jennifer on how to do these coils.

What did you make with these coils?

S8001362

I will leave you with some yummy chocolate rock buns Duncan as made.

Which Hexagon to make?

Hi guys,

I have been playing today with aran wool. Yes I know it’s coming to summer but I am back at college and I need a project where I don’t need too many brain cells working.

Should I just make hexagon 1

Hexagon A

Or hexagon 2

Hexagon B

Or make both?

Or Both

My first go at the African Flower and I am using the pattern Here. These hexagons are going to be used for a throw and matching cushions. I never do things by half……………Go on be brave and tell me which option you would take?

Take it easy and do say hello

Catch up

HI guys,

Time for a catch up.

Well in the last knitting post I mentioned a new project on the go……well here it is

IMG_0148

Another baby cardigan with matching hat. I used Sirdar Supersoft Aran in green from The Wool Shop in Leeds.

IMG_0147

I loved doing the cable work and I am really impressed with my stitching up. This as been a massive learning curve for me and I do have to admit I am so glad that the Wool Shop is only around a few corners for the help when I got stuck.

I have also completed a crocheted rabbit for Duncan.

S8001346

I used the pattern from Simply Crochet Issue 2. The pattern is called Itty-bitty bunny. The wool I used was Hayfield Bonus DK  shade number 0931. Duncan picked the wool and it was ok to use but the black bits did come off in my hand. I would not recommend this wool for a small child……….except for Duncan.

S8001347

I think I may have to look for some fluffy wool for the tail next time and have a play…..what do you think?

S8001350

Oh yes my desk is tidy for once as I decided yesterday to have a tidy up on my desk………I don’t think it will last long but I can hope.

Take care

A Card for Sketch Saturday!

Hi guys,

I have tried to make an effort with keeping up with other blogs as well as my own. So I was reading the Saturday Sketch blog and I was looking at this weeks sketch wondering if my mojo would ever come back to me……..

SS-255-2013

I did feel something but just a little bit……

IMG_0151

This is what I managed. I used an old Whiff of Joy stamp called Melinda Helping Angel. I used my new watercolours and water pen.  The papers are from the Kate Knight Spring Fling pad that I got free from the Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine a while ago. Card candy and buttons from stash. To finish the card off I shuttle tatted some little butterflies.

So I would like to thank Sketch Saturday for helping me with the card drought and enter the sketch challenge. If you click on the Sketch Saturday above it will take you t the challenge post.

Wonder what card I can make next??????

My first knitted baby garment.

Hi guys,

Not written in ages once again but I have been busy with crafting. Still struggling to find my mojo with cards but seem to be into my knitting. I have managed to make my first baby garment. It is a coat cardigan from Studio Stylecraft. The wool I have used was original going to be crocheted into my blanket but it didn't seem to go so I needed a project for it. NO I do not have any plans for a baby but I thought it would give me more confidence for when it comes to making something for me or friends. So this is what I made.

It is for 3 months to 6 months old. It is done in Stylecraft Aran. Not sure of the colour as my lovely husband as moved the band I was saving........typical.

I will leave you a sneak look at the next project I have nearly finished.
