Dad's retirement card and Friday Sketchers Challenge

Hi guys,



Well my Dad is retiring tomorrow from his caretakers job at the local Community College. I have to add under protest as he wants to continue working but he as to make room for the young ones who are cheaper. He keeps forgetting about getting bored too easily with Jennifer who is 11 going on 99. I have told her to ask Grandad to take her Crown Green Bowling which she loves to do.





Here is the card I made. I used the sketch from Friday's Sketchers which came in very handy.





I loved this sketch because it is not too fussy and Dad doesn't really like fussy cards.

Dingusdee as made something!

Hi guys,

My other half as finished a project at last.........I wanted something for some cactis and this is what he made me.........Yes I love it and had to go out and get 3 little cactis.

I think if you look closely you can see Tiggers tail on the left hand side. My cats have to get in all piccies.

Magnolia Challenge

Hi guys,




The challenge over on Magnolia challenge blog is a sketch and I do like these. So here is my oftering............and in my rush I have not let the glue quite dry so can be seen.





I have used papers in my scrap box because it is starting to over flow a little bit. I used my new Martha Stewart punches for the borders and leaves. Ribbon from stash. I used my watercolours to colour Edwin who looks lovely. The flowers told me most of the night and I have added some stickles glitter.

365 Cards challenge

Hi guys,

I have made enother card today and it is for the 365 card challenge blog. We had to pick 1 thing out of the 4 catogories

I picked paisley pattern, black/white/purple, brads and circle.

I did not have any paisley pattern paper so I made my own with the papermania stitch cards I have. Used purple thread from cross stitch stash. Then used the colured cards with the circle nesties.

Lili of the Valley Sketch challenge

I have been busy with the Lili of the Valley sketch challenge. I used the summer papers from My Minds Eye that I got free with cardmaking and papercraft magazine. I used my blossom nesties and some ribbon I had in my stash.

First ever Never ending card for a special person

Hi guys,

I have been working on this all week and I have found it quite hard to decorate. I always find men hard to do cards for.....I do not know why but I always struggle. This card is for Dave or to people his knows on Trimcrafts.....Glassman. We go over to Tina and Dave's every 2 weeks to craft and really put the world to rights like you do and have a great laugh. So Dave likes glass.......music.......a couple of drinks.........Katie the assistant daog they have....(well to be honest everyone loves her). I wanted to decorate each side differently so here it is.... i do hope Dave and you guys like it.The first page had to be covered in music as he loves his music. The image I can not remember where I got from. I used papers and my cuttlebug music folder to make the backgrounds. I have a few card candy to put on the finishing touches.
I think all men have favourite sayings and Dave's is "It takes years of abuse to achieve a body like THIS!" I have this stamp in the It's a Man's World collection from Claire Curd. The elephant is a stamp from the Dimension Fourth Company. Papers used were from the Mind's eye and a papermania set I have had for years. This page is dedicated to Katie their dog. Dave spoils Katie to pieces and does take her for lots of walks which he loves really. Papers I used were from the Dovecraft pets designer paper pack.I have to say I love this pack of papers. The dog stamp is from Home and Heart collection and the paw stamp is from Stampendous. Which I stamped and then embossed with black powder. The last page I had to be able to sign from us all which I have to admit and I nearly forgot about. The image is from the Buzzcraft Paws-fur-a-Moment collection. The sendiment is from the same collection and I used the nesties so I could write our little bit. The papers I used on this was for the Dovecraft masculine Designer paper pack.

In the end I am happy with the results and may be tempted to make another one. They are fun to play with.

Wild Orchid and Secret Crafters challenges

Hi Guys,

As usual for me I started off with one challenge in mind and it as ended been entered for two. Why not? For the Secret crafters the card had to have an aperture in it and for the new Wild Orchid Challenge blog it was "say it with flowers" I do not have any of their gorgeous flowers and I can only dream and drool but you never know.......here is my card.

I used distress inks to colour my Dimension Fourth Ltd Butterfly stamp.

I used Blueberry Hill papers for the background and to make the 3d flower.

Of course I used my nesties for the flower and aperture.

I used the "with hugs, kisses and Butterfly wishes from the Daisy and Dandelion set.

Summer and Cute card Thursday challenge

Hi guys,

Cute card Thursday Challenge blog is Schools out for Summer. This I had to think about. What does Summer mean to me? Well..........smelling the flowers in the garden and seeing the pretty colours which is not in my garden as it needs a lot of work but I have a little bit of colour and I have managed to grow some strawberries and the Rhubarb is growing like crazy.

ABC Challenge - You and Me

Cancer UK card and a card for the colour challenge 6.

Hi guys,

Well I had to have today off work so that Jennifer could spend the day at High school which starts in September. I can't believe my baby is starting high school this year. Time goes so quick. Back to the card I have made today. My other half likes to go into the charity shops looking for books for us. So he brought me loads of plastics bags from Cancer Research Uk and told me to fill. So here is the first one:

On Trimcrafts the lovely Sandra is running a colour theme challenge and the challenge at the moment is the colour orange and I think this card just fits.
